Seymour Railway Heritage Centre invites you onboard a special Heritage Train tour to Tocumwal travelling the “freight only” railway line. Join the train at Seymour and enjoy free breakfast in the historic Seymour Railway Station dining room prior to your trains departure. Trip is on Saturday 29th September.
In Tocumwal a visit to the Foreshore Markets is a must. From fresh produce to stylish fashion selections, the foreshore markets gather visitors from all over NSW and Victoria. Exhibitors are offering many interesting and creative products including such items as arts and crafts, woodworks, organic produce, fashion items such as clothes, shoes and accessories, bags, graphic shirts, collectibles, home wares, and a whole lot more.
You can also grab yourself hot drinks, delicious cakes and other food, or simply walk along the beautiful Murray and check out the Historic Railway Bridge which was build over 100 years ago.
A Coach transfer to Cobram town for a look around the city centre at your leisure is one of a few optional extras.
Also avilable is a Winery Tour & Lunch to Monichino Winery - The Monichino family winery is highly regarded for its awardwinning vintages. Emphasis is on producing premium wines of full-bodied aroma and richness. Recently the Monichino winemakers have expanded the range of wines to include the new Italian varieties Barbera & Pinot Grigio.
Experience the best in local regional wines of the Goulburn Valley at Monichino winery. Lunch will be included which includes anti pasta platters, all you can eat wood fire pizza and fruit & cheese platters. Of course there will be wine tasting available.
Dining will be available on board by local Seymour caterers Taste on Track. A brilliant morning tea and/or a High Tea in the afternoon are optional extras, but please book early as these are strictly limited to 48 bookings only.
Your train will travel from Seymour to the beautiful border town of Tocumwal. It’s only a short walk from the historic Tocumwal Railway Station to the ever popular Foreshore Market, or there is a free shuttlebus provided.
Your Heritage Train will be hauled by vintage blue and gold locomotives, and passengers can travel in either comfortable 100 year old wooden bodied carriages or the famous 80 year old Spirit of Progress steel blue passenger carriages.
Your train will also include the magnificent Yarra Carriage which was built in 1906 with a viewing platforms, and original 1937 Spirit of Progress Dining and round ended parlour carriages.
A kiosk will be serving hot and cold food, and licensed bar in Parlour will serve a range of wine, beer and soft drinks.
