Well, here are my first pictures for this thread. I've been slowly working on eight SEM kits over the last six months and here are the results (please forgive the flash from the camera... some of the photos weren't under the best lighting conditions):

VR U Van 897 (completed) - bought this one to do first for practice, as I hadn't attempted any kits before.

VR E 164 and VOAA 84 (completed) - these came a little later, but the decals were done before the V/Line grain wagons (hence why one or two aren't exactly straight...).

All the kits have been lightly airbrushed with dullcote to protect them.
Comments/feedback are welcome.

(And if you're wondering why some of the models are sitting on what appears to be plain white paper... that was to stop the reflective table surface from wreaking havoc with the photos.)

Nothing wrong with plain white paper - it's one of the best neutral backgrounds there is.

Not a lot wrong with those wagons either.   Wink

The goods shed is an Ian Lindsay Models kit.  I highly recommend it.

Does it come with all the parts or do you need to buy anything more to complete the kit - the Bullamakana one is a bit of a rip off as you then need to buy more styrene to complete it - that they don't tell you.

Cheers
Shelton.

It is a complete kit.  The platform is a separate kit from Brunel hobbies.

Hi All,
As part of my Overland project, I upgraded an IP Sleeping car to act as a stand in sleeping car for the odd occasion when I get my CLP out to haul it, representing the June 1995-November 1997 period - which was the period of time where I first became aquainted with travelling on the train (my first journey was on March 17 1997, with CLP16 up front).

I used some custom cast pilot fillers, SEM Wheelsets, SEM W car concertinas and Lloyds Flushglaze, as well as making a few minor alterations to the car, before painting it in Floquil Old Silver and weathering to represent the appearance of these cars, before acid washing became regular and they became shiny like they are today.

  Shazam75 Chief Commissioner

Did some weathering today on some oil tank cars - I think they turned out ok  Confused
