MSTS, The bar has been raised. Modeled in Broad Gauge and coming with a mini Broad Gauge route this is the start we have needed. Many thanks to Derek Siddle from RS.com for making this happen. This is going to be the BEST Aussie addon for a Train Simulator out there yet.

So excited, I can't stop bouncing off the walls.

The best one in 9 years of addons that leaves all the others (including those for MSTS and Trainz for dead?

I remember one US route that was released a few years ago. It was marketed beyond belief, with one of the developers attempting to portray that it was more or less the best MSTS route ever built. Upon release, it turned out that the route was basically mile after mile of the same thing (detailed but nothing whatsoever to break the monotony) and unbroken double track that had been laid on a flat pool table with no gradient changes whatsoever.

Anyway, I hope this lives up to its reputation.

Can't take credit for it, its Dereks baby as part of his shunter pack. Funny thing is Derek still isn't happy with it! But if we want to see it, we'll have to live with the small niggly issues. I'm in love with it all ready!

We should probaly do something about those NR's. Did you ever get success with em? I had something then complety stuffed the blueprints Arrgh!

Hi Stephen,

I suspect Derek is a bit of a perfectionist and is never 100% happy with any model/texture he creates as there always just another tweak to make it just a little bit better.

As for the NR I handed it off to you to see if you could get it working as all attempts by me failed.  Lets face it it’s a rough shell but if you can export it and get it running in RS then adding detail to the model and improving the textures is all [sic] that’s required. For me 3D modeling is the easy part, getting it in game is the problem.  Crying or Very sad

I stopped all development for RS not long after it was released.  RS did not live up to my expectations or fulfill the requirements that I have for a train simulator at the time and as far as I know still does not.

The Shunter pack has been released on steam for a couple of days now. Just got it and absolutely love it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/24081/ It's USD $14.99 and well worth it.

In the pack you get:

Class 08 in BR Blue livery
Class 08 in Freightliner livery
Class 09 in Departmental livery
Class 10 in BR Green livery
Class 11 BR Black
Class 11 in LMS Black livery
Class 11 in Dutch livery
Class 12 in BR Black livery
Class 13 in BR Blue livery
F Class in Victorian Railways Blue livery

Also 9 scenarios and a small 5ft 3inch fictional Industrial shunter route by the name of 'Hopetown'. All in all, a very nice loco and well detailed route as one would expect from Derek.
