Not Boorowa. Answer is not as cold. Check the loco # for clue to the trip's purpose; is a historical or normal freight service? It is tender first so on track where it can not turn.

Upon what are the people leaning?? Maybe a safety rail?? So what would a safety rail be doing near a hut at right angles to the tracks? Something just above the end of the third carriage....

I wish I saw a steamer at Boorowa as I have friends in that region.

No.
To me Hazelgrove is just as cold as Boorowa. Try a much warmer climate. Did you miss the clue that the line is now not operating?

I guess it might be the Murwillumbah line "somewhere".

As to exactly where, I will have a WSITD at Dunbible?

This guess is a wild one, and depends on whether someone had access to colour film (Kodachrome, most likely) and the appropriate camera 70-odd yrs ago.

If that truly was the case, perhaps we're looking at Teven on the Ballina branch - bearing in mind that the line opened 25/8/1930, and that all (regular) pax services ceased nearly 13yrs later on 16/4/1943. Services weren't totally suspended until 11/6/1948 due to landslides, so if this train was where it was (Teven?) in the intervening 5yrs, it might have been a gunzel special, run by the organisation that was the ARHS' ancestor.

Thanks, as ever, to Mr. Bozier and Rolfeworld for the Ballina line info 8)

Not the place you mentioned. But I see you are working on the level crossings on the Murwillumbah line. Good idea and keep going south!!

Not the Ballina line as that closed before 5910 entered preservation service.

Sorry no but nice try as an historical steam special did go there. Something in my memory says the historical steam loco was used to move a couple of freight wagons at that place?

Not the Ballina line as that closed before 5910 entered preservation service.
"Petan"

I admit that it was a stretch on my part, but the hills looked very like Teven. Also I had failed to identify 5910 as the loco Embarassed

So - let's try Bentley then.

Not Bentley nor Stokers although we snapped a picture of that train at Stokers later that day on its return north to M'bah.  Not too many level crossings left on the way to Lismore and Casino....

The hills look like Teven because the mystery location is very similar landscape.

Sorry no.

Stokers is closest so far.

My generous wife said to mention the name of the town matches the paintwork on the power poles.

Yes. and the staff exchanges to you so you are clear to control the following quiz section.

The power poles are painted similar to black and white cows as in moo = cows. See Google street view for this.
