For me this shot would look better with the entire train centred, instead of the lead loco being right in the middle. You've said that you have just bought a new camera, Flickr says you took it with a Canon EOS 600D - the shutter lag is non existent once you get used to it after having a point and shoot, so try letting the loco wander a bit more into the shot next time. Same goes for the shot of the QRN coal train before it (IMG_2544).
Of course, you can cheat and use software to crop the final image once you get home to your computer.
As for the shot of 8254 on the PN coal (IMG_2509), it would have looked better if you had have moved towards the end of the platform, and you wouldn't have the fence in the way. I'm guessing you knew that already, as you other photos are from that spot.
