Thank god you're using Ubuntu... I mean

Try Chromium or Firefox. They're at least natively supported by Ubuntu. That should fix your issues, if not, open the terminal and type:

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

Correct, I'll edit it to show that. Sorry.

I have an issue when submitting new items to the news queue.  Once I paste in the news (into the body component) the formatting bar above the window (main window) disappears.  The same does not happen on the summary window (the first part of the article)

I have tried IE and also Chrome.  Both behave in the same way.

Under your user profile, you can disable the rich-text editor and use the straight text one instead.

I tried that, and despite de-checking the 'enable RTE' radio button, I still get the RTE, which still kills all quote-stacking.

Interesting.  I have also just tried that but still get the RTE.  Hopefully Michael and assist.

I think the functionality broke somewhere with the change...

...anyway, does anyone know why my avatar vanishes every few weeks? (The new avatar was installed because the last one fell off.)

The biggest issue is I cannot adjust formatting for news items.

I do like the feel of the new 3.5 site.  I also like the railcam module which is looking great.

I noticed that too after posting.

PS: Sir Thomas' attempt to quote ChooooooChoo in the Lezala's 16 underground railway lines thread has become a formatting disaster. Some of it is because the quote-block was closed before the nested font-block was. However none of the other font-blocks seem to work either.

Bit of a bummer. I never had an issue with the old RTE because the quote functionality was only through the BBCode.

I just looked it up. That one is hilarious.

Enable/disable RTE switch now works.

One thing I have noticed is that when I click the "watch this thread" bar the page goes to the information screen stating "You are now watching this thread"

Previously after about 5 to 10 seconds the page returned to the thread automatically, now it doesn't return unless I click the "return to thread" link!

Been getting similar on the All forums have been marked read screen - it used to return to the forum index automatically but doesn't anymore.

I tried to use the new RTE on my phone but neither the keyboard nor the cursor would appear.

Not sure if this is to do with RP3.5 but twice now this year I've almost had a heart attack when I login from my iPhone and it tells me my account is banned Shocked. I then race to a computer to find my account is still going and is still on 0% warning.

Sounds like an IP ban. Your phone will get a dynamic IP which may have been misused by someone else in the past.

Hand-coded lists, still get a phantom :u in the closing element. It doesn't appear during a preview.

Quotation-blocks look like they're fixed.

URL tags used thus {url=http://www.google.com.au}Search the web{/url} are broken...

Edit 1: Ticking "Disable BBCode in this post" doesn't...

Edit 2: Code tags don't display the BBCode either, but did remove the BBcode. Spaces inserted in an attempt to get around this.

Edit 3: That didn't work either, used curly brackets instead of square ones.

Search the web

And it's not broken in this post either, but is in some posts. Stuffed if I know...

Having some pic posting issues.

Running W7 & FF, pix from Photobucket.

The end result of my post is I get these extra URLs and it looks a tad messy.

It's not something I'm doing wrong, is it?

Fixed in dev code. For whatever reason it didn't like the uppercase URL tag.

Should now be fixed in dev code. Can you link to an example to allow me to confirm?
