The VicSig website will help you there JB;Basically built from some imported SD40s. It is obviously a lot of the mechanical parts were used but does anybody know if a new frame was utilised? There was a picture on this site of bits of SD40 car bodies from the donor locomotives.
Interesting legal question vlocity, from my understanding those that designed the XR's had been "pensioned off" by Freight Australia and where in fact working as private companies "contracting" to FAL in this manner they registered the design to their own company and thus onto Avteq.Hi All,
PN are never wrong..............are they.....
The same question could also be asked regarding the new BRM's
Hi All,I'm pretty sure that Bendigo Rollingstock Manufacturing purchased a build license from PN to base the BRM design on. The design is owned by PN but SSR tweaked it after they were given the green light to use the XR as a base design.
I don't think so some how because there were major talks between SSR & PN about the body that the BRM's were going to receive & SSR/CRL got a green light from PN to build them. That's the difference between SSR/CRL & Avteq!
