Carlingford line - Rydalmere station

I was looking at options to travel to Rydalmere from Hurstville every weekday work hours. It looks like there are not many trains going to Rydalmere station. What are my best options? Are there buses going to Rydalmere?

Yes, there is a bus to Rydalmere, the M52 between the City and Parramatta via Ryde. You can change at Redfern, then change at either West Ryde or Parramatta.

Cool... I guess changing at West Ryde or Parramatta is quicker than taking the bus directly from Townhall.

Any idea how much is the bus fare? I couldn't find that info on 131500 website.

It'll be a MyBus 2 fare, as it's between 3-5 sections.

I've done the bus from Town Hall to UWS Parramatta in Rydalmere - once in my life, never again.

There is a two week shutdown along the whole length of the Carlingford Line starting on Monday. Hence the appearance of the rail bus above.

EDIT: I see the post above has been edited to specify that the rail buses are there due to Trackwork.

I think Gorgeo should get to know the timetables.  3 trains will often be preferable to 2 trains and a bus, in spite of the hourly service along the Carlingford line.  Depending on ones departure times, going via West Ryde risks 29 minute waits too and via Parramatta is indirect, but both of those options can work out best sometimes.

Thanks. I had a look at 131500 site too. Any idea if the trackwork happens on the Carlingford line quite often? Can't believe they are doing track work on weekdays. I prefer using trains rather than catching bus but have to work out which one is a cheaper alternative.

Train hurstville to Circular Quay change at Sydenham then Rivercat to Rydalmere would be a better option.

I suppose that depends on whether the original poster is working in the Rydalmere Industrial Area or attending UWS (it was not stated which), if its the later then the ferry wharf location is not that convenient to the University.
