    I went down to SGR for the first time yesterday and had a really fantastic day.

    In terms of friendlyness of staff, value for money and scenery its probably the best tourist railway I have been on.

    The staff were more then happy to have a chat and were interested in where we had come from and also said invited us to come down and volunteer sometime

    The redhen was in operation so it was good to ride it and we  started off in rain and ended in sunshine.

    I would highly reccomend if you haven't been to SGR you go and do a trip down there soon

    For those of you that want to see something different MT200 will be used on Saturday on a DCT with Y135 and Mixed Frieght 
    Y135 - 3*GY - 2*Flat wagon's MT200  but as it is a DCT it is a privet train

    MT200 will be out again on a mixed DCT with Y135 this Saturday doing the whole line we also have the Ganger trolleys doing shuttles from 5 road at Korumburra through out the day with the buskers festival.

    On Sunday will be the normal Red Hen 402 doing the timetable 

    Should be a good day out will try and get more photo's this time

    I have not been able to be down at SGR much over the past 2 months due to not having time

    Allot of work has been going on the track between Korumburra - Leongatha with many sleepers getting inserted this weekend

    All tho not needed Nyora turntable is seeing a bit of attention as of late with clearing and burning in and around the turntable pit and area now that we are allowed to burn off again.

    Clearing and tidying up at Nyora could always lead to clearing the way to something else - if you get what i mean Wink

    We can always dream tho.

    What will the turntable be used for? As far as I know, there is no stock that would need turning.

    Everything can benefit from being spun around now and then, even wear and tear for example.

    No real reason just thought while i have the chance why not clean up the area ?

    About 2 weeks ago we had these come in to help us replace about 200 sleeper's in one day between Ruby-Korumburra



    Something different Nyora yard at 3:30am from about 2 week's ago as well

    I will also try and get some photo of the restored ZF24 which has had rust removed and a whole new paint and some photo's of the ABU's and 55RM which has had both boggies rebuilt and getting rust removed

    Well there you go, I stopped in at Nyora for a look a couple of weeks ago and didn't even realise there was a turntable in place. So all in all it looks like some great work you guys have done down there at Nyora. Well Done.

    It's a good 400 meter's West of Nyora station hiding in the bush lol
    Will try and get back down there this weekend

    I hope to see it back in service after we clean up around the area we can already get a hirail/trolley down there and it wouldn't take much to get the Y / Derm / Red hen down there

    Not much done this weekend besides a couple of dead tree's cut up for fire wood

    Taken today now that i have it at home to fix up


    sometime last year at Korumburra with another member's VR 8W19 in the middle and SGR's 8W18



    Another BG ST2 at Korumburra waiting till i get the time and money to fix it

    Now that el zorro has gone belly up what is going to happen to t342 ?
    What is happening regarding it going back to broad guage and who is going to fund that cost.
    Who is going to fund the cost of it sitting at dyon
    Is there an idea of what if any pay out will organisations like sgr get out of el zorro

    Most of that we will just have to wait and see

    I'd say they'd be a fair way down the list of companies that are owed money, so if anything is to come to them, it'd be a while. The tax man comes first and everyone else a very far second!

    The SGR posted on their facebook page that until further notice they have suspended all trains and services. Whats going there? Does anyone know anything further?

    For reasons I can not discuss services between Nyora-Leongatha has ceased until further notice.

    Donations and new members would really be appreciated at this point in time.

    Work will still continue on the railway by the very few members this railway has.

    Due to it being to wet around Nyora this weekend i went up to Korumburra and got a couple of photo's of what's been happening (just copied off facebook)

    32ABU has just had a repaint


    32ABU's Roof after being replaced and painted


    24ZF Has been fully restored and repainted


    55RM getting sanded back ready for a full restore and paint






    Hilda Falls last night



    Can't really see much but the Hirail sitting on the turntable at Nyora last night would be the first piece of rolling stock to be turned on here in a good 10-15 years
