T378 with S303 into Warrrnambool yesterday evening around 7.30 pm and left again around 11 pm.

As for locos running out of fuel, as I understand it, most older engines are not fitted with cab mounted fuel gauges but have a sight glass arrangement on the fuel tank.

Surely it is not beyond the wit of man to have a look at the sight glass before taking off.

Wouldn't that be part of the pre start check list, not just climb aboard and assume everything will be sweet ?

Correct Yates515  6 Consolidated Rail Leasing  BQEW,s and four ZQBX,s were left behind.

And as for the fuel issue at least it wasnt like PN one time who couldnt get the A class going and after 1/2 an hour they realised that they had no fuel.

Unsure but I think it may have been because they couldn’t start T 320

The Warrnambool Standard today reports work has begun on the $10 million passing loop at Warncoort. The loop will be 1.2 km long with signaling linked into recently installed fibre optic cabling. The report states the shorter passing loop at Camperdown will be retained.
According to the report passenger numbers totalled  around 480,000 on the line last year, an anual increase of almost 10%

My good wife and I live in proximity to the Warrnambool rail line. We have not heard the freight go through on the morning down or the evening up. Generally the freight usually gets into Warrnambool around 7.30am and leaves about 7 pm. I went past the Westvic siding during the week but could not see the train. Has the freight stopped in the last week or so.....does anyone have any infomation.....thanks.

A reliable source has advised this train will now be run by PN.  I would expect this service to resume shortly.
