Do any railway station either metro or Vline have or had a regular station cat?

Many stations overseas ie japan and part of UK have cats that live in the railway stations full time. Often they are looked after by staff or regular passengers.

Werribee has or at least had a few years back a large collection of Feral Cats that lived near the station.

Vicsig has a great photo of the station cat doing its thing (lying around doing nothing) at Echuca dating back from January 2008. I'm afraid though that's where my knowledge on the subject ends.

When l was at Werribee in the 80s we had a Station Cat, used to sleep amongst the parcles and come out when each pass  unloaded van goods, cant remember hes name though was always milk and food at the signalbox door.In the winter it slept on the drivers sighn on and station book under one of those old wall mounted bar heaters.
Also when at Newport there was one on the downside that Old Anne the station assistant used to look after, some of you may remember her she was loverly but always had half a pie and sauce spilt down her jumper...cheers all

Is that true, or just a joke because of the football team? Because I'm a Geelong supporter.

I saw a stray pooch (dog) on a train in Melbourne in the 1990s.

Didnt belong to anyone... Didnt have a collar either.

This was inside the carriage.

The pax looked at it with disdain.
