The recent Supervisor and CDO/Trainer jobs were advertised as residential,I would think these would be the same, not sure on rosters apart from they are still a few months from running trains so the rosters are probably still a work in progress.

Have seen a copy of their new agreement (it was printed out and left in our meal room) it looks to have been signed off by the RTBU.
No overtime if overtime worked you will get time off in lieu, so on shutdown days you will get your time off.
There are deferments on sign on time on the day and can be up to 4hrs at a time with a maximum of 3 deferments, so you could be put back up to 12hrs.
Camp jobs with layover at Moranbah.
All residential no FIFO.
Stand down clause as well.
I think roster is 4 on 4 off.
Not sure what else was in it I lost interest fairly quick.

I am guessing its all residential as one of the questions on the application is whether the applicant has access to accommodation near Hay Point. Not that I am looking at changing jobs. My youngest daughter is looking at trying to get into the industry.

Anyone got any idea about the money they paying??? Smile

My daughter missed out, and am I glad of that. I read their agreement last night, what a load of crap. A HUGE sellout to those employees by one of the rail unions, and its not the one that has the letters AFULE in it.  AFULE played no part in the negotiations.

No OT- days off in leui. But management gets to dictate when you get them. If you don't get them, you may, or may not, get them paid out. Crap pay, given everything, all penalties, allowances, public holiday payments, are all rolled into your renumeration. Nope, just a load of smeg.

And I have also been told, that with regards the current TCA negotiations for Aurizon, Aurizon has said to the particular union that was involved the negotiations with BMA, that if its good enough for them to sign off on such an agreement with BMA, then that's the kind of deal they want for us. At least one member of that union at my depot has resigned in disgust at the travesty that the particular union has done.

Yes Expost we were very surprised to see that union officials signature on that BMA agreement, I just hope the AFULE put up a fight in the Aurizon agreements.
One things for sure this black duck won't be working overtime just to get time off in lieu.

A couple of people have asked me about the BMA agreement. Here it is, straight from the Fair Work Commission website.

That agreement is an eye-opener!

Days in lieu for working on an RDO?!? Who the hell would agree to that? No meal allowances for away trips? RDO's aren't required to have a percentage of them fall on a weekend, and there's no definition of an RDO.

Overtime payments rolled into your total package? Yeah, that'll work out well...

4-hour lift up and lay back? Taking a meal break while the train is going on the mainline?

More proof of the failure of some unions to negotiate decent agreements, and now this one has been made, employers can - and will - use it as a template for future agreements!

We lost our meal breaks in the last TCA. Now have to have them on the run. Heaven help though, if you have an incident when the 2nd driver is preparing their meal. I always ask the question, what other heavy transport industry allows employees to work up to 12 hrs without a meal break.

It also opens up the issue of fatigue management. Who can maintain concentration for 12 hours on an empty stomach? You probably need at least 2 meal breaks in that environment, a rest every 4 hours, otherwise it sounds like overkill.
