Hi all,

Some shots of the recent trackwork.
The multi spindle borer has proved extremely successful! as has the spiking hammer.

Hopefully it will only take a few weekends to spike the rest of the sleepers, then on to ballasting, tamping and regulating...

Hi all,

Work has progressed to the point where the sleepers are spiked from Musk to Dolphins Rd as well as the 60lb AS sections in the forest. Here's some shots from Saturday

Hi all,

The 60lb D rail has now all been spiked and we've moved onto the sections of 75lb. Probably only another weekend or two before this phase of the work is completed.

Y159 emerged from the shed this weekend following its repaint.  It received some new batteries, an exam and is now for service again!

After so long in faded chalky blue it is certainly different to see the Y looking so good! Always a fan of your work DSCR, please let us foamers know when we could see the loco in action!

Not bad for a paint job that's lasted nearly twenty years out in the elements and, was painted with an electric spray gun.

Today two QN's from the VGR were transported to Daylesford to assist with ballasting in the Bullarto section.  Also the DSCR's ballast plough N2 returned after several years of being on loan to the VGR.

Excellent to see the co-operation of the two groups to allow the DSCR to ballast the line with some proper ballast wagons. Also good to see the N wagon has now been returned.

Today 750 tonnes of ballast was delivered to Bullarto, hopefully over the coming weeks it will be spread through the Musk-Bullarto section ready for tamping/regulating.

On the subject of tamping,  the auto lining equipment was tested on the tamper last weekend.

Ballasting of the section between Musk and Bullarto was undertaken this weekend in very typical central highlands weather.

Thanks for the pics: finally somebody updated Railpage- we don't all check facebook regularly, you know. But ... where's Charlie?
  VRfan Moderator

Location: In front of my computer :-p
Charlie squashed by a front end loader or a ballast train would not have been good, so was in the car or back at Daylesford out of harms way!

I was token gunzel for the day so have heaps of photos to get through. I'll put them on my Flickr and update this thread when they're online.
