What was a Bankstown service doing at Cabramatta ?
May have been Liverpool via Bankstown.
A52 and A53 are doing acceptance testing over the next week or so.At 1800 hours, Tuesday 20/8/13, sighted set A52 at Parramatta on an "All Stations" Service to Blacktown.
Why is A13 and A14 delayed? Are they modifying them for something? They (along with A12) required a little more work to get in a decent state, so they were reworked in a static area at Cardiff, while the better quality sets (A15+) went through the main production line. It was a way to kill two birds with one stone - it gave the employees displaced by Downer's decision to stop building locomotives somewhere to go, and kept the trains flowing through the workshop (hence avoiding penalty fees).
It appears that 50 Waratah trains have been delivered already and the news said by end of this year they will have 50 in service, but I'm assuming they might have more than 50 A sets in service since it's only August and there's enough time to deliver more A sets.
