Signalling works begin on the Noarlunga Line tonight through the Goodwood area
I would like to know whats going to happen to the many kangaroos that live near and along that line, how many are going to be killed by trains. I have also been informed that a new suburb will be built somewhere along that line. The kangaroos have already lost so much of there home thanks to the train line. Seems to me that the local government do not care what happens to these beautiful creatures to the government its all about how many houses and roads they can crame into small areas. I bet my last dollar we will loose many kangaroos thanks to un caring cold hearted pollies all they have is dollar signs in there minds. One just had to see how many were killed by the big trucks when the preparing of this line started, I was fobbed of by those in the transport department then, I bet we will all be fobbed off again its how they do things, never on the up and up.
I like how Belair line trains are saying to change at Goodwood station for the Noarlunga and Tonsley lines, you would be in for a long wait.It would be an especially long wait if you got that announcement at some other station instead of Goodwood. The addition of additional noise pollution about safety to the announcements has unbalanced the system and it sometimes selects the announcements on a random basis. Did you know that there are connecting local buses at Lynton?
This afternoon the catenary wires were strung and fixed through the centre road at Brighton. The earth and retrun conductors have now been run and fixed from Brighton to Hallett Cove. Cantilever arms have been fitted from Brighton up to Singleton Road so the installation of the catenary between Brighton and Marino seems imminent.
However the resumption of services I believe will be determined by the upgrade of the signalling. LED signal heads have been fitted from Goodwood to about Seacliff (junction signals excluded) and wheel detectors have been fitted out to South Brighton although not all have yet connected to junction boxes. Trackside duct and cabling work is in evidence over quite a stretch of line. New steel equipment cabinets have recently appeared at East Ave, Emerson, Angus Ave and Woodlands. However there is still a lot of work to do.
