Hi all,
Does anyone have a reliable source for the 1/8" X 3/8" (3mm X 5mm) cylindrical magnets that can be used for uncoupling Kaydees. I got some from Oatley Electronics a few years ago, but they don't have them any more. They need to be the 1/8" (3mm) diameter ones.
TIA
Alan

Thanks David,
Looks like they have a great selection. Which ones did you get if they were for model trains?

I think they were 3mm by 4mm cylinder ones, were for uncoupling trials.  still not done,  - one of these months Wink

Alan, best to pick someone local, as it is against the law to send magnets by post. You may have to actually go and collect them. Mind you, I did manage to find a supplier who would post them to me, so contact them and check first.

Sorry Alan, it was quite a while ago and I can't remember the price, I bought 24  4.75mm(diam) x 1.5mm neodymium's for sound triggers on my 24th scale engines, they posted them over, I chuckled at the time as the small package came in a huge box with packaging, I suppose so that the magnets wouldn't stick to anything metal, they didn't say anything about postage, but perhaps they didn't tell anyone, I can't remember what the label said. Another mate had imported some from the States with no drama's.
Their service was good.

Magnets come under Class 9 -Miscellaneous. The company I bought them from packed them between sheets of ferrous metal to reduce the intensity. But Aussie Post does not like them because the parcels stick to their sorting machinery and screw up the process.
