Cobden will have a 20 year birthday run this coming week-end. Some keen souls will be ariving on Friday and having a run, staying for the whole weekend. However the main days will be the interclub run on Saturday, closed to the public and the public run on Sunday.

There will be extra attractions for families on Sunday and tickets will be only one dolar (usually $2.50).

Making my first visit to Cobden on Saturday, It should be a great event. I will be doing a story on the event for AME magazine.

A wonderful week-end at Cobden. The weather was kind with just on 2000 tickets sold on the Sunday public run.

The Saturday interclub run saw about 25 locos in attendance with a fine 31/2 " gauge engine gracing (and racing!!!) the elevated track On Sunday 2 steamers on the elevated track.......good to see it being put to use. (It caters for 31/2 and five inch)

Great support, especially from the Diamond Valley club, kept the crowds moving on the Sunday. Thank you also to everyone who assisted with a broken point allowing normal services to resume as quickly as possible.

The next big occasion at Cobden will be the annual Spring Festival, third Sunday in October.

Cobden normally runs the third Sunday of each month. However over school holiday periods it opens every Sunday. Unfortunately the predicted weather for this Sunday is not good. Still, there is plenty of undercover shelter in the station overall roof, the barbeque area and the cafe. (The cafe has a wood space heater). Swings and playground equipment for the kids, mini-golf etc all available.
