Listening to West Kalgoorlie during work on most days.  7GP1 I take it this train terminates in Perth but where does it originate?

The G stands for Goobang Jct at Parkes. Yes SCT service with GWA crews (unless it's changed recently).

Yes, it is an SCT service, often utilizes SCT's maxi wagons and double container stacking.
This would be the only Double Stack train east of SA/WA/NT.
The train to/ex Perth is often "topped up/split" at Port Augusta with loading from/to Adelaide.
A train runs from SCT's Bolivar depot to Port Augusta to meet it.

No, PacNat's PS6-SP6 freights regularly has (FCL) double stacks on it, attached/detached at Parkes.

Apologizes Pressman I didn't mean the 'no' to sound blunt. It might be SP5 that has the double stacks not SP6, but anyway Parkes is the eastern limits for double stacks.
