    Railpage loading here in Adelaide is like an old mole at Christmas only worse, any slower and it will stop. Not complaining just telling you like it is. Every other site including my own loads almost instantly though, only Railpage takes forever.

    Railpage is proving tooooo slooooowwwwwww for IE10 with 80% of pages timing out lately. Today couldn't get the login page to complete which just returned a blank page.

    Now using Chrome - still slow but at least the pages do eventually load.

    We'll have rail to Doncaster before this message posts - been trying to access the site for a couple of days (Safari / Mountain Lion) but so far all I get is timeouts.

    EDIT - this finally went up after 3 minutes trying to open the site, another 90 seconds to open this topic then another 2 minutes after hitting "Submit"

    One thing that I have noticed in the last couple of days is the fewer posts in a thread the quicker it seems to load.

    I tried using Google Chrome to avoid the time outs but found that it was slower.

    Yes, that's over 6 minutes to load the page - GRRRRR!!

    I'm also getting heavy loading times, quite frequently. But something else that I've noticed is the disappearance of my warning bar. Is this glitch or has the warning system been modified?

    In an attempt to reduce load on the database server to see if it makes any difference, some Forums code was removed. So far it's made no difference.

    Please be patient Smile Brian and I are working as hard as we can. Bear in mind that neither of us gets paid for this, and we've both given up our weekend to fix it.

    Same here, VERY improved load times! Fractions of a second instead of > 30k!

    Nice work RP admin team! Very Happy Especially having to give up your time for a site that's provided for free! Smile

    Hear, hear !!   It was inconvenient during the outage, but if the fantastic response times I am getting now are any clue, it was worth it.  And I would just like to add that the touch of humour on the dummy site was delightful.  For a while I just kept on hitting the Reload button so I could see as many as possible of the fake messages.  Well done, guys.

    Great too have RP back on line. Thanks guys. Fantastic work done by all too get the site back up and operational and done outside of normal paid employment hours.
    I too enjoyed and had numerous chuckles at the little joke lines on the downtime pages.
    Running at top speed for me here in Adelaide on both the lap top and mobile, everything is loading within 1 to 2 seconds.

    There is still a lot of work to do to make the site fast and Michael is working like crazy.  We need to get some underlying issues fixed and some final corrections in place before we can move to the next stage of the sites development and in doing so make some interesting and i think exciting announcements.

    We really appreciate the support.  It was been a tough week all round.  We will need some additional hardware to match the announcements about coming features so we will also need to enlist users support for this new hardware.  We need to split the database server and production/dev across two boxes.
