Good effort Muzza! Would the "rough bush track" happen to be Imlacks Rd. at co-ordinates -41.297058, 147.354677 (Google Maps)?

Any trace of a number and is it still on its underframe?

Access is off Targa Hill Road. Didn't see a visible number. Sorry not sure about the underframe.

Hi saw today a yellow steel covered van with AV1 numbering. Had buffers and screw couplings. Not sure about underframe. Its being used as storage shed at a work shop on Tasman Highway just past Gunns mill out of Scottsdale.

Was just wondering if anyone managed to get any pictures of AV1 or are able to shed some light on its current state.
Cheers

Yes, I have - but at home. AV1 (ex EEP13) is pretty rotten, but not a lost cause. Of the surviving EEP's I have seen, its probably the worst.

It is located in the yard of R.G. & S.D. Gerke Excavator & Truck Hire, just out of Scottsdale  It is hard to find, as it up in the back of their yard and can't be seen easily from the road..

Thanks for the info, how many EEP's have been found so far and are there any that could be potentially saved and restored to use?

Cheers.

Is this the one that could be seen from the Scottsdale Hospital? There used to be a EEP at the old BP yard near St Marys but I have no Idea where it went,

No, that's EEP12, still red & cream. AV1 / EEP13 is yellow. I would love to know where EEP19 from St. Marys went as well - if anyone finds it, can they yell out?? Also missing is EE24, late of Fingal.......

The 3 wagons at Bis industries, have been threatened with the scrappie's torch, thanks to a tip off. I'm on the case but where to put them? (If I do indeed manage to rescue them)

Tassie seems to have a plethora of this old displaced rollingstock, more so than the mainland - and it's good that you guys are out there documenting them, before they return to the earth from whence they came. Or is that merely because what's on the mainland is underdocumented?

I think it has somthing to do with the major change we had in the 70s to the mid 80's where AN scrapped a lot of stuff. Also I did see a few in paddocks around vic/nsw on a car rally but it appears I have a good eye for it

Happened when the change from common carrier to block loadings occurred and the change from vacuum to air brake.

With a ZC, CD, BC, open access and a brake conversion, you'll be able to compete in both the bulk and intermodal markets.......
