A1 is back at Cardiff after being rebuilt in China. Still a little more work than most current sets to be done on it, but it should be in service early next year. I also understand that A2 has been scrapped and another set has been built.

It was apparently rusted to the point that building a new set was cheaper. Most of the expensive stuff (doors, motors, roof gear, etc) will have been removed and re-used. Apart from that, they were just shells with very few interior fittings.

Wait don't u mean run 178 as 175 was a S set today while 178 is now an A set from today.

Telegram 413-13GM was issued indicating Run 175 to commence from Wednesday, November 13, with a A set consist.

Wait then why was 175 a S set today?
Kset56
Perhaps the A Set tasked for that run was unavailable. Perhaps the run was transposed due to late running or a defect in service.

I was just curios because run 178 was an A set even though it wasn't rostered to be.

Hi Scott,
Can you please expand and mention where the rosters are for?
Are they T1, T2????
Also if possible what is the time and place of the first run (A) for the day.
Thanks.

The October Timetable commenced with the following number of Rosters allocated as A sets:-
Sector 2: 32 A set Rosters.
Sector 3: 20 A set Rosters.

The first Passenger trip Weekday Mornings for A sets:-
Sector 2: 0343 hours Campbelltown to Circular Quay (via Granville).
Sector 3: 0309 hours Penrith to Central.

The 4 additional Rosters changed from S to A set consist all operate in Sector 3.

Does anyone know when the large amounts of S-sets on the Bankstown Line will the scheduled for a waratah train instead? I also realised that the older sets of waratah trains usually operate on T3 (Bankstown Line). Rarely any new sets operate on this line.

During 2014, the plan is to have the Rosters currently running on the Bankstown Line with a S set consist, changed to a K set consist.

Some K set Rosters running on Sector 3 will be changed to A set consist, which will release a number of K sets to work in Sector 2.
It somewhat spreads the use of air-conditioned sets across the two sectors.

There any reasons to why there won't be Waratahs planned for sector 3? Power problems?? Or there's no need to as the line is already fully air conditioned?

Waratah's run sector 3 everyday, almost 2 in 3 trains are an A set on Sector 3 and 3a. If you are talking about the Illawarra which is exclusively Tangara and Oscar (with exception of failures), then you are talking about Sector 1.
