I was thinking that....how many of those have left Railpage, and their account is 'idle' (they haven't logged in for an extended period of time)? Confused

this month around 12% of those users will access the site or around 6000

Could be higher as traffic is going back up after the software issues

Hope so....it would be nice to see most of the remaining 88% return once the back of house issues settle down Smile

Does the 40,000 include the ones spruiking for false passports etc?   I see there is another one again on the site.

And sock puppets etc?

Interesting stats would be:
How many have been active in the past 12 months?
How many have logged in every month for the last 12 months?

Hope so....it would be nice to see most of the remaining 88% return once the back of house issues settle down

Of course we can't have deceased members start to post again miraculously and banned members will stay that way until allowed back! Wink

Probably. But they would not be counted in next months stats.

There are a lot of users who join the site for the cams and also other data who do not post in the forums.

Oooh yes! I can immediately name a few off the top of my head that should never be allowed back, but we wont go there (at least I wont)! ShockedLaughing

Some of these undesirable people have prevented people like me from posting in the past.  Glad they are gone and the site is better to use without people attacking others.

I'm fairly sure that there would be some people that you guys don't want back that wont come back here, Ever. The same could be said to some genuinely good posters, the damage has been done and they wont come back.

The spike in accounts to just look at the cams doesn't surprise me either, a few of my friends do it. They genuinely have no other reason to be here.

Also what would be the breakdown in stats; like how many people have actively posted over the years and how many accounts have not made a post in the past x years? I think it would be interesting to see the trend.

There really hasn't been a spike in accounts.  The new account creations are steady.  I agree the important approach now is a zero tolerance to any type of abuse on this forum and there are reasons for this which will become clearer in the next few months.

There are a number of new features coming which may require more then just being a member which do not require financial commitment.

Thanks for your feedback as always and enjoy the site.

And asides from the almost constant down time, people have given this place for a reputation of being unreliable.
