According to footage on 9 news, it looks like Z3.139 has derailed and pinned an SUV (Holden Captiva) against the curb. I'm guessing this was route 16?

Occurred on the route 8 at the corner of Albion and Holmes St's at around 0945, the tram reportedly ran over a foreign object, believed to be a piece of wood, derailed and then struck the motor vehicle in motion.

Oh, I know that intersection well it's a tricky one (well tricky in the sense that it isn't the usual crossroads intersection). Nowhere near Hawthorn really. Were there two incidents today?

Pedestrian knockdown involving B 2106.
  chapzboy Station Master

Thanks Polar Tiger, my information is that the knockdown happened between La Trobe and A'Beckett, away from the RMIT platform stop, do you know if that is correct?

A tram has broken down outside 390 St Kilda Road causing a logjam of trams trying to access the city.  Witnessed 1000's walking up St Kilda Road toward the domain interchange.  Reminded me of a Collingwood game exodus!

A route 16 tram heading to Kew has broken down in Glenferrie Road Malvern about 100 metres north of Wattletree Road.

Traffic is chaotic.

A heavy Tram Recovery truck is parked in front of the tram with a broken tail shaft and leaking hydraulic fluid.

The 4-5 cars parked adjacent to the broken tram & truck can't get out - their owners are not happy.

Chaos this morning in St Kilda road. (28-5-2014)

Trams banked up in both directions for 1/2 a km. probably 40-50 trams. Would appear a motorcyclist has been hit by a tram or by something else on the tram tracks stopping city bound services in their tracks. (Let us hope they make a full recovery).

Long delays from the south. Witnessed a tram trying to use the Domain Interchange connection to the Williams street route.

Lots of people walking into the city.

There were considerable delays on the network between Melbourne Central and St Kilda Road this morning.  Many trams had been cancelled for the route heading south from Swanston Street to St Kilda Road.

Saw what I think was a Z1 sitting up on the concrete divider at the corner of Abbotsford and Flemington Road last night, right in peak hour. Looks like it derailed after coming out of the Park, rear bogie was up on the divider. Would have been a bumpy ride inside!

Heaps of disruptions today:
Collins St trams diverted to LaTrobe St due to power upgrade works at Queen St
Bourke St trams diverted to LaTrobe St due to Santa
Swanston St trams briefly disrupted due to East West Link protest (La Trobe St was already so full that only Rt 8 diverted, the rest terminated at FSS, with at least 10 trams captive between LaTrobe and the uni).

With all of these disruptions, LaTrobe St was almost as busy as Swanston St!

A solitary A class ran a Collins St shuttle between Spencer St and Docklands - a total of 6 stops. I wonder what the shortest shuttle Melbourne has run was?

This news stuff is interesting. Railpage could be a news aggregation site as it is now starting with jobs

Yarra Trams make announcements on twitter about incidents they have on the network.  I use yarra trams as i live in carlton.  I do not use metro much.

today there was an issue at the uni.
