So how can we convince Auscision to provide sound with their locos?

So how can we convince Auscision to provide sound with their locos?
Piston

I think their current arrangement is probably the best option...(ie: to provide the models as 'sound ready").

This allows the modeler to choose the brand of decoder they prefer.

There have been too many examples (mainly USA prototype models) where the sound decoder is (say) a factory fitted Tsunami, only for the modeler to find out that it is some el-cheapo version of the decoder and does not contain all the bells and whistles (pun intended) that a full-function decoder might provide.

I am quite happy to source my own decoder/s and fit them myself......the one for the 422 could not have been simpler if they'd tried.

Having said that, I must say that I am also quite happy with my Eureka AD60 class with their factory sound chips....but mainly because there is no better option for the 60 class currently available through, for example, DCC Sound etc.

Really never a secret, I guess. The real secret is will they go on with the rest of them, as David says?

I hope that X31 makes the list as it spent most of its life on the SG due to a missing staff exchanger.
It would be great if the staff exchanger could be removed on that model too.
A second favourite was X54 which was the dog of the SG fleet Very Happy with small wheels most of my time at Wodonga it ran 9 to 11% slower than most of the others Very Happy Both engines will look well on the front of my 14 car Auscision Aurora . And I thought I was done and well equipped Wink

These will be a 2014 Technology boot in the behind for the Victorians who thought they had all they wanted. Austrains X Class are really a PITA and are really outdated and need upgrading.
Perhaps when JE really does retire, Auscision will announce the total rebuilding of the X Class, T Class and the C Class?
Now that would be great Very Happy
And I think I will now start selling stuff on EBay Wink

given the range, quality and the relative speed at which projects are delivered, i think it's safe it say that Auscision are the leaders in Aussie HO products, by a long shot actually. Not putting the others down, just saying Auscision are the front runners by afar.

I find it interesting that around 6 months ago they said on their facebook page that the XPT was going to have a price increase to $1195 for a standard set. The webpage hasn't been updated yet (nor the order page) so id say they are still at $895. Looking forward to painted samples of those.

I'd literally begged the Auscision guys 5 years ago to do this version X class due to the Austrains obstinance about how hard it was yada yada yada, and all the rest of their excuses coughed up over time on not doing this version.

I too shall be ordering 2 units (V/Line), and hope they do a version with dual marker lights. This was an option baulked at by Austrains on their series 2 loco (which they have to live with). Be that as it may.
I suspect Auscision has finally taken this option by listening to what the market has been asking (bloody screaming for) for some time, despite their original decision to respect Mr Austrains in the hobby by not doing this model until he'd given the game away. I congratulate Auscision on seeing the light with this announcement.

I wish them well with this model, and hope they sell an absolute shed load as vindication, that this has been a large hole to fill in the Victorian loco roster.

The hobby (both loco and rollingstock) manufacture of late has turned into a first in best dressed - stuff the rest mind set. We've all seen this with the number of double ups from Austrains / Auscision / Powerline / OTM, and the p!!ssing contests therewith regarding who's model is first to market etc.

The announcement of the 1st series X is simply another devepement in the "well, if you're not doing it, then stuff you we will"

We the modellers are the beneficiaries, and this should be encouraged.

Advice from Auscision on Tuesday was that they were waiting clearance on the docks and delivery to their warehouse.

So they can't be far away.

This for all models, be it train, plane, car, etc

Will have "Highly detailed underframes"

What is the point of having detailed underframes that you can't see? Sure, have the side view of the underframes with some detail, but not the bottom. If you're in to models, it may make it easier to handle.

Hmm, intersting comment. I'll have to have a look but I don't think any of my models have great "detail" on the bottom. I can't remember ever seeing traction motors, traction motor leads, suspension bearing caps, gear cases etc... I think 'they' are referring to side, front and back detailed underframes. And really you would want it to be at that price I think.
