Strange
I though the mine they are running from only has reserves to 2015. Unless they have started a new mine.
I just had a look at the IMX site and didn't say much.

I cannot comment further then to say, I feel my job is more safe here then it did and continues to do at my former employer (PN).

Did anyone get hired for these jobs? I applied but have never received a response. Just curious.

Negative, the loss of the IMX contract meant that there was no longer a need to fill these positions. However, I would imagine that future employment opportunities will arise for Perth-Melbourne qualified drivers by the end of the year.

Thanks - did some googling and discovered a story on the RailExpress website from June about the cessation of the iron ore trains, and also GWA's BG limestone trains for with PSP.

If SCT decides to not renew the contract for crewing the MP/GP/PM/PG trains with GWA, they'll need more staff if/when that happens.

Good luck to those people who receive a positive response to their application for these jobs!

Must have had quite a big response as the ads stayed up longer than the closing date.

Anyone who applied heard anything since the recent (closed last month) job openings for Adelaide and Melbourne were advertised?

If I applied, I would not be expecting a call back. I would suspect with the industry wide downturn that the positions have been cancelled due to lack of demand.

Just my err thoughts.
