I appreciate the thought, but it should be noted that mine isn't the only hard work that has gone into this project. This was a bit of a group effort, with Justin Woolley building track and scenery on the Merri-Lalor section and me building the Epping depot and track and scenery from Merri to the city. I did have to make a lot of scenery objects especially for this route, but it also depends on a large number of ojbects built for previous Australian MSTS routes, the usage of which is greatly apreactiated. This project builds on over 10 years of other people's work in Australian MSTS, without which it would not have been possible.

Because of that it would not be right to charge for it, I hope instead people might be able to use some of the objects created for this route to make their own projects that contribute to the Australian MSTS community.

We'll jump in our time machine to the not so distant past for this view, a Hurstbridge bound hitachi at Melbourne Central. Gone but fondly remembered.

I see but wouldn't that be a bit hard for a MSTS route, having to put 1 version on then take it down but that would be cool if it did come with some special files or something

You never know. You'll have to keep an eye out.

What is the overhead height?

The overhead height is 5.4m, the standard for Melbourne suburban trains in MSTS.

Well after a lot of this

And plenty of this

The Epping Line for MSTS is now avalible for download as a public beta. Please note this is not a finished product, but is largely complete and is released here to hopefully encourage community involvement.

A couple of things to keep in mind when instaling:

*Please read the instructions in the readme.txt file, there are a number of dependencies you must have installed first for it to work.
*This route features detailed suburban scenery, it requires a reasonable amount of computing power to run at good framerates.
*It is reccomended, though not required, that you use openrails for more realistic and reliable operation.
*There are a number of bugs in the signaling still, unfortunately I don't know enough about signal scripts to fix them at this stage. If anyone would like to have a go at fixing them your help would be very much appreciated.
*Most of the Melbourne landmarks we know so well are included, but there are still a few missing. If you would like to contribute to this project by making some buildings please feel free.

If you have any problems getting it working please post here.

There are no launch specials at this stage, but there will be a bit of special content coming soon, keep your eye on this thread for updates!

Now jump on, the next train to Epping is now departing. Click below for download!

Is it the batch of errors that say?

Error: Continue?

If you then you need to install this: http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1187

The readme of the route states that version 4 of the Platform Kit (ashphalt) is required for the route to work, but didn't mention (or didn't imply properly) that version 2 is also required. The white platforms are used at Flinders Street and some other stations along the route.

Apologies, I neglected to check exactly which files were included in which version. You are correct, I'll have to update the documentation.

If you get errors messages, post them here exactly as you see them, and when they appear. It's hard to fix anything if I don't know what they are.
