Rock Flat it is.

Staff to Rodo

As a bit of light entertainment while Rodo puts something up this was also taken at Rock Flat.  Look at the 4 in the mileage number - someone goofed here!

Here is a scene where little archaeology remains to tell us of those times.

PS:  Cuzwurx,

I do appreciate the vertically flat arrangement of rocks, there at Rock Flat.

As a WSITD Lansdowne.

There is some kind of engineering facility there these days but whether it existed years ago I have no idea.

Not much closer yet.
Landsdowne Engineering has been around a while.

That coal stage was a rare type and Casino had one so that is my answer. Also confirmed by 5916 as it was one of the last two oil burners and often seen at Casino to save haulage of coal for locos on the far northern end of the North Coast. The rail car set in image did the Murwillumbah run.

Petan is right on the ball with all those vague visual clues picked up immediately.

Good to see you on board old chap, take control now. The road is yours.

Thanks Rodo Smile

I did not bother hiding the loco's number as the scene should be the clue. EDIT; Linked directly. The image is that shape as it was one of those Instamatic 126 jobs.

EDIT; Contest won by Rodo so I will reveal it as Ravenshoe and change the image accordingly

Sorry, no. Branchline yes as it is a 1620 in its natural element but not Rosewood or any nearby Ipswich West Moreton lines. 1620 class probably suggests you head north wards  young Rodo.

Sorry not close. I have not been there although I have driven the Eidsvold Monto road. Glad you did head north from Rosewood so keep travelling.

No but I see a pattern using your knowledge of EE branchline locos and a belief they were on the Central Division. True as they did work west of Rocky and branches but I do hope you like more travel and a need for a feed and a rest along the way as it is not close.

Wouldn't be part of a now preserved railway by chance?

Bullucked

When I took that photo in 1977 it was part of the normal QR. I have not been back there since due very very long distance from Tweed Heads. No comment on the preserved railway aspect so either name a place with a preserved railway or a place without a preserved railway as you could well be right one way or another.

No but you are closing in. I am also curious about Bullucked's location as my knowledge of up there is decades out of date.
