Location: Central Gippsland
Not Traralgon, Everton, Wedderburn Junction or Hamilton.

The station is a former junction.

The next location along the line is/was also a junction. [It's surprising how many locations in Victoria had adjacent junction stations]

Not only was there another junction at the next station, but also one at the station in the opposite direction.

What about Hernes Oak? With Moe and Morwell either side.

OK, let's move down one. What about Morwell, with Hernes Oak to the up, and either Maryvale or Traralgon on the down, both junctions, depending on whether you count Maryvale as a "station".
  Rodo Chief Commissioner

Location: Southern Riverina
Coleraine Junction and Branxholme fit the bill as former junctions seperated by no intermediate stations.
  B 67 Chief Commissioner

Location: Central Gippsland
Morwell is indeed what I had in mind. I was thinking stations with junctions at Moe, Morwell and Traralgon. I realised that Hearns Oak and Maryvale were possible alternatives, which is why I also used the word "location". But even so, Morwell was still in the middle. 8)

So there were actually five junctions in a row - Moe, Hernes Oak, Morwell, Maryvale (Exchange Sidings) and Traralgon.  That's a good thing to remember for a trivia question...

I shall come up with a question tomorrow - and it won't be "what was the middle station out of five junctions in a row" Smile

Is it tomorrow yet?

This station is/was near water
  Rodo Chief Commissioner

Location: Southern Riverina
Most stations were near towns that always had some kind of a water supply.

Not pleased with this pathetic description but I will say Stony Point.
  duttonbay Minister for Railways

Not Stony Point, although you make a fair point Rodo.

Let's try this: This station is/was near deep water

I understand that deep water is a relative term, but I'm thinking river, sea, etc. not water tanks, dams or water pipes.
  Rodo Chief Commissioner

Location: Southern Riverina
Warrnambool is on the Southern Ocean, that should be deep enough.
  duttonbay Minister for Railways

Warrnambool and the Southern Ocean are indeed deep enough, but the water I am looking for is not quite that deep...
  Rodo Chief Commissioner

Location: Southern Riverina
Echuca Wharf is only suitable for shallow draught vessels.
  duttonbay Minister for Railways

Yes it is, but Echuca Wharf is not the station we seek.  Your previous guess was closer in concept.

This station is/was near deep water
It's unique in two respects
