The picture theatre, Kings Lindfield, was a bit further along Pacific Highway towards Killara. The Coles supermarket now occupies the site. See:

The Kings was the only theatre I was aware of as a child, and the only one I can find on the web. It was quite close to the station, though not as close as the buildings shown in the photograph.
I was out of town in the mid to late seventies. If there was another theatre in Lindfield it was not open for long.

Georges, that looks to be the wrong threatre, as it was there near the station in 1977 or 1980-ish on the Pacific Hwy.
No cinemas near Lindfield in 1977 or 1980 on the Pacific Highway.
The only cinema at Lindfield was the King's cinema which was closed and demolished in 1969 or 1970 and replaced by the Coles New World supermarket, which is currently there today.
There is a cinema on the Pacific Highway at Roseville, which to the best of my knowledge is still there.

I was standing in the carpark, and the platform is #2; you can see the Princes Hwy in the background. Note the now-redundant 4 car marker for Up V-sets.

From what little I can make out through the reflection interference, it appears to be at least a two platform station, with the platforms in wayside configuration, and they're curved. Shoot, could be anywhere 
On such meagre visual evidence, I'll stick with what I'm most familiar with, and say that the opposite platform we can see through the window might be the Up platform of Wombarra.

It is 2 side platforms. But its not Wombarra. I'll give a clue after a few more guesses. It was raining by the way.
