AR Kits replacement mechanisms

Keeping an eye on these promising developments on the AR Kits Facebook pages.

Using North Yard components looking at releasing a replacement mechanism for the TrainO 44 Class. In what could be of even more interest to others are the plans to expand to cover replacement mechanisms for the Powerline 81 and 48s and various Austrains models. In one of the posts talking about an indicative cost of $180-195.

As an aside, its good to see proprietor who actually uses Facebook as a means to engage and discuss things with his customers rather than the wider practice of simply using FB to provide product news.

Now this one of the better ideas that has surfaced in recent times.
I know plenty of people who would love to remotor their older Lima, Powerline and Trax loco's. The main stumbling block is pricing - and to keep it within acceptable limits and not cost it so it equals the price of a brand new release!
I for one have at least 3 powerline 81's that need new and improved mechs ....

Now this is worth watching.
I've got a Powerline 81 and a Traino 930 that are currently dummies that i'd love to get going again.

Wonder if they have thought of supplying bogies only for some of the models, eg lots of locos's chassie, motor and driveshaft to each end is quite ok, dare i say Trainorama, Austrains, Auscision.

But the news is alway good for the locos with no decent mech, ie the lima and orginal powerine models - in a replacement chassie and mech..

Nice idea in theory, but FB is yet another time waster, and if you are a one-man band, there is not enough time in the day to engage on FB and run the business. I used to be a member of many forums, now just a couple.

The Northyard bogies will not fit into the chassis of existing models, this is why they are supplied as a replacement.

An order form of sorts have finally appeared on the AR Kits website although at this stage it doesn't look complete with no details of what locos are covered. Something to watch.
