HROMING, public sex, assaults and crowds of unruly teens are among the problems commuters are encountering on the most violent stretch of the Gold Coast rail line.
Queensland Rail figures confirm the Beenleigh north to Woodridge link is the most dangerous in the state for assaults, [color=#484f54]The Gold Coast Bulletin reports.[/color]
Despite the statistics, the stretch of rail line only has one security officer and a dog on permanent patrol to protect passengers.
Security staff are appealing for an increase in resources, aware the Kingston dog patrol may not be used on weekends when rail staff are absent and a team in a “solo car” is the only back-up.
