Great shots there! You got one of my ute at kings wharf if you whent in abit more you would of seen my gang trolley sitting next to it. Also most of that rail is old launceston tram track  found under roads over the last 10 years the council dumps it there and the tramies unbolt it then take it away (well most of it) also until mid last year those two sections of track was joined.

They do make a nice sight for sore eyes.

Hopefully there is an option for further rolling stock and motive power to handle the coming flood of traffic ones the reliability and service quality become known.

Nice pics, BTW.

Hi all,

Recently I purchased a new scanner that can handle negatives (and slides, not that I have any of those).
My negatives are in absolute chaos but have begun scanning them.
I have uploaded some of these to my Flickr accound, here are some of them.

M5 on a show day special I think this was taken in 1999

ZC16 shunting at Hobart, 1991.

852 at Hobart 1991

"New" DQ's and a QR at Hobart in April 1999.

ZC 32 between two sister locos at Hobart, again probably 1991

And last but definitely not least, the now sole survivor in happier days, ZC 19 at Hobart also probably in 1991.

Enjoy,

Toby

Very interesting.
Any details of the scanner model and price etc, please.
I have literally 1000s of slides that I should do something with.

TTMS didn't ever do any show day trains as that wasn't the business model.

In 1999 there were suburban shuttles in April, August and November. It does look fairly early on so 1999 is probably about right

Hi,

The scanner is a Canon CanoScan 5600F, they are not a new model by any means but one of the few it seems that can do negatives properly. I have been unable to find a printer/scanner combo unit that can do negatives.
Cost was approx $200 from Dick Smith.

After checking I can confirm you are quite correct, they were taken in April.  I don't know what date precisely but I'm sure that will be around somewhere.
I know it was between the 6th and 19th of April, 1999.

Tonight I found a film that I'd particularly wanted to find, some of the last shots I ever took at Derwent Park. This was probably taken in 1994, on this occasion the condition of the station and yard are probably the best indicators as to a more precise date.

Kind regards,

Toby

TR01-TR02 prepare to shunt. Also in pic is loco 2010 with mechanical issues. Lastly part of the rail redevelopment can be seen on the far top right.
