All mainline locomotives that wish to use the ARTC network must have ICE (The name for the radio equipment/system used). Given that the TT's may be expected to lead a train, they must therefore have ICE fitted.

All TTs are fitted with ICE. I believe most of the GT46ACe fleet is - I can say for sure the WH and GWA classes are as well.

Did the TT's actually arrive into Melbourne?

Many Brisbane to Sydney and Melbourne services have been suspended account track shutdown over weather near Newcastle.

Are you saying that TTs will replace 93s on interstate services and 93s end up in the Valley ?
Sounds like a fuel/range initiative if true .

It is true that there are no TT classes locos in Melbourne, as all these locos are using coal workings and also they will not replace 93s workings. Thank you.

At least two TT class are regularly used on Marulan South stone train workings to Sydney.

These are not coal trains and not in the Hunter Valley.

They are being used in place of ECP equipped NR class which Intermodal seem to want to hold on to.

To M636C,

You have be very careful that you are saying about TT Classes locos. There are no double TTs working in Marulan Stone Quarry now, as PN are still using TTs in coal workings in Hunter Valley and also sometimes do work to Tahmoor coal workings. If you want to know about these TTs, so why not, Go up to Hunter Valley and see plenty of TTs working there but some lines are still closed due damaged by the floods and bad weather since last week. Hope, it is interest you. Thank you.

The last time I actually saw TTs each end of a stone train was in March.

My last visit to the Hunter Valley was on 11 April.

I saw a number of trains with triple TT class, and some made up TT/92/TT.

But I saw a train made up 92/93/93, so 93 class are now being used in coal traffic.

Since both TT and 93 class are being used both in coal traffic and in other traffic
either could turn up outside the Hunter...

I thought 93 class had replaced TT class on Tahmoor trains. I can't recall the date but the last Tahmoor coal I saw had a 93 each end. This change occurred last year...

Occasional 3 x 93 class on Blue Mountain coal trains such as this week. Most interesting Blue Mountains coal trains are the 2 x CMs + 2 x BRMs which run reasonably regularly.

I guess those wagons didn't go all the way through to Melbourne. Perhaps they were left at Ettamogah with all the other obsolete stuff:D

So there are two Boral stone trains. One has 2 NRs and one has two TTs. This arrangement has been in place for several months. Thanks so much for your clarification.

Why would Melbourne crews need to quaflied on TTs ?
