Except for lack of funds... Still in school, and recently purchased a V/LINE FREIGHT A and a C.... Ah well I will probably save and get the X's first then T413 and T333 and then just go from there.
Peter and all the other young blokes out there
And all the young Dad's out there
And the unemployed desperately trying to get a decent job
And the thousands for one good reason or other, just cannot spare the dollars for these great models
Can I tell you that all of us were where you are once. Everyone of us (I guess not too many silver spoons are out there?) have been sad because we thought we were missing out.
I went through the early Australian Brass period, and agonized over spending $375 on a C Class and later $1200 for a CLP, but everything usually comes to those who wait.
Now in my 70's I have almost anything that I want (Apart from the knowledge that I have a lot of time to enjoy it
Most of us have many years to build our model railway empires and should just be happy to do what they can. I would have loved to have a shed like I have now, when I was young, or the rolling stock that Auscision and the others have supplied me, but you know when we formed Hobsons Bay in the 80's we got a lot of fun hauling our trains around a monster layout with cheap Lima and Powerline models And a lot of pleasure building painting and decalling our pink epoxy kits.
Rest assured it will all come to you, and if you can work hard and aim high, it will come all the quicker.
Would I change anything? Would TattsLoto millions have made it any better? No I don't think so, because enjoyment of life and self satisfaction need to be lived to be appreciated, don't you think?
Peter and all, happy bidding on all the stuff you missed out on, when all of us old farts head for the engine house in the sky, and our relatives put it on EBay to recover some money for our estates
