Level Crossing removal works at St Albans, line will be shutdown from the 3rd to the 8th of January. Trains are running Bendigo - Gisborne, Road Coaches Gisborne - Melbourne

Any reason why the Vline trains aren't running all the way to Sunbury? Are there any additional works going on or is it that Vline can't terminate at a Metro station when there are no Metro services (and thus less staff about?)

no cline trains at Albion cams for two days why ?No trains from Sunshine to Sunbury till January 9th because of Level Crossing Removals at Main & Furlong Roads . V/line trains running from Gisborne northwards .
Standard gauge is open as is the freight line to Broadmeadows though, and I have seen the Albury passenger Monday & Tuesday pms

Is it so that V/Line coaches ( Buses) won`t have Sunbury people in them competing for seats with people from further up the line I wonder

No the reason is Gisborne is the first VLP location that is signalled by VLP that has a crossover where trains can be reversed .

I think the point is that Sunbury is signaled by Metro. Though I don't see why they can't be signaled for as per normal. According to VICSIG, control of Sunbury is from Craigieburn so there still should be controllers without Metro trains at Sunbury. Happy to be corrected on any of that though.

Having used Rail Replacement coach services this week and during previous Occos, Gisborne is much cleaner and easier. Better access and more room to move for the buses. Incoming buses from SC discharge at one side of the station while outgoing buses pick up at the other and it is only a quick hop to the freeway. Even with the greater distances involved for the slower coach the trip was quicker, my 9.08 service out of Castlemaine on Thursday actually arrived at SC bang on time at 10.42 which is better than previous times. (bearing in mind of course that my coach ran express Gis to SC)No the reason is Gisborne is the first VLP location that is signalled by VLP that has a crossover where trains can be reversed .Why not use Sunbury then ? Or does it not possess a crossover ?
