Yes after 55 years outward cement traffic from Waurn Ponds has been lost to road.Doesn't sound like the traffic has been entirely lost then, just being prepared for the transition to SG Mildura services. Probably cheaper to run cement around Melbourne by road at this stage too.

There is rake of cement pots stored on the old Fynasford line lead between North Geelong Yard and Douro Street . Guess PN will go on another scrapping spree.

Am5 was late into the Melbourne this morning.
No doubt, about the only time it gets used now is dragging boxes across the state.S313 into Melbourne via Bunbury Street light engine.As a Steamrail member/volunteer I must say I wasn't expecting to see that. I bet QUBE are using it on a freight service. Someone confirm?

Tonights 3MP1 has 6002-X54-X54 which is a consist I am not sure we have previously seen. The train just east of Stawell as I type this.with 2 X54 I would say No we have not seen this before

More interestingly S313 was seen running a down BG goods via Albion this very morning. https://www.railpage.com.au/railcams/albion2/photo/24625258430 I believe the train number was 97xx so via Seymour. Could this be a new service out of Mooroopna ?

Wow, when was the last time an S class ran a freight solo?What else is there? A rake of T classes?
What with QUBE operating the daily Maryvale Paper train, the daily Deniliquin Rice train, and the twice daily Kilmore East Quarry train, all with their limited pool of 4 G class and 1 VL class locomotives available to Broad Guage, I think it is likely we will see hired heritage locomotives in semi-regular use, at least until QUBE are able to get their hands on another more modern, more powerful BG loco.
QUBE have regularly used both S313 from Steamrail, and X31 from SHRC, so these loco's seem to be in favour from a spot rental point of view for some reason.
