Houston we have a problem with the PTZ service. The images are mind blowing and the quality the best I have seen but the camera appears to be rebooting on a cycle. Cabling issues leading to power issues potentially.
Will users be able to control the camera and look in the different directions?
That's the big question.
Yes, it's possible to write an interface for Railpage to control the PTZ camera. The issue is giving people a fair go (so that someone doesn't hog it all day!); privacy; and whether Joe Bloggs who signed up ten minutes ago has more of a right to control the camera than John Doe who signed up ten years ago.
There's a lot to think about before we get there. In the meantime, this provides our railcam team the ability to select the best vantage point for railcam footage without spending hours on-site.
@Michelle12 and @GheringhapLoop are working on the PTZ and we have it up and running. Configuration and testing now underway. We have a spare 2nd unit which would work nicely at Albion or Bunbury Street!
Preset 1 - Down Signals SG/BG
Preset 2 - Down Signals for SG only
Preset 3 - Up BG siding points
Preset 4 - UP SG Siding points
Preset 5 - Zoomed view of the UP direction both gauges
Preset 6 - Wide View of the Yard area
If the camera is idle for 10 minutes it will reset and default to preset 1
Brian, just having a look where the Video's might have gone on the PTZ. In config it says that the video will be saved in "(C:UsersAdminAppDataRoamingWebNPdownload_records)" on my computer. Well a search of my computer does not find that location, I get as far as C:UsersAdmin...... but no file AppData or the rest?
