Glad you like the new installations.

If you can update one cam you can update all the cameras as you are in the maintainers group.  We know we need some further fine tuning on the cameras but thus far the video being received has in my view been of excellent standard.

On the west camera overnight shots are showing a white band across the screen.

Is this a scratch ?

The 3MX2 arrived into Lofty on the loop track on the other side of the station and it appears we did not capture this correctly.  I am still investigating.  I have asked Jim to clear the spider webs from the cameras and apply some deterrent.  Baygon!

These are spider issues similar to what we have experienced in Melbourne.  Jim will be dealing with these issues today.

I get the same thing in Firefox (multiple versions but currently 46.0.1) on Windows 10 - video frozen with sound playing - but the video plays just fine in Chrome.  My Internet Explorer does not like it at all, complaining about the format.  Most of the time I just use the download button and open in VLC.

Two both of you thanks for the feedback and glad you like the location and the quality of the sound and video.  The codec being used in the video I am unsure of but I will spend some time this weekend looking at it.  It could be changeable but I think VLC is the best way to look at it.

I will also alert Michael to this issue when watching the videos online.  I guess my plan would be to have the video appear with the still images in the camera photostream for ease of use.

Both @Michelle12 and I are waiting (probably with a few others) for some grain action.

Enjoy!

And your welcome Mr Bevans. I still wish we could do something here in Albury. But asbestos issues have kept us out of South Box. I will talk with Ross Jackson and see if he can get some help for us. He seems to get along with ARTC pretty well.

Away on holidays for a few weeks come back and find this amazing update tremendous work to all those who participated. The photo quality is the best on the site coming out of South Australia.  The videos are awesome too.

Sincerely well done.

That particular video has been re-encoded and tested successfully in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge and Internet Explorer. All future videos will be encoded correctly, and I'll look at automatically re-encoding all previous videos.

Confirming that the video now plays fine for me in both Firefox and IE that had issues previously.

Just for my own curiosity, what was the encoding used beforehand?

The audio bitrate was too high for Edge, Firefox et al to cope with. I've changed the sampling down which seems to be working now. The audio encoding remains AAC and the video encoding remains unchanged, H.264

I can adjust the bitrate on the camera I believe.  I will look today.

All video is H.264 with an option for MPEG.

Because of the position of the cameras (mounted on the eave of the station building) they will always detect a person on the platform.
Actually the mystery man is most likely the man who graciously allowed the cameras to be installed and supplies the internet connection that permits you to see the pictures and footage!
Or one of his guests as the location is a bed and breakfast establishment.

And he has evicted the star struck spiders from in front of the west camera!
