How to get MSTS melbourne trains

  cityrail-rulez Chief Train Controller

I just downoaded Open Rails and everything is working for me!

The only thing I can think of is that because you originally had just Open Rails on your computer as a stand-alone simulator without MSTS installed, you may have installed the routes and other add ons to the path of C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesTrain Simulator 32-bit of Windows or Program Files (x86) 64-bit of Windows

And noting that you just re-installed MSTS it may have overrided the C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesTrain Simulator 32-bit or Program Files (x86) 64-bit folder containing all your add ons

My guess the only way to fix this issue is open, Open Rails, then go into the Options menu then click Content and click on ADD
select the path of your MSTS installation as shown above depending on where you have your MSTS installed to and click OK

Now that Open Rails will read MSTS on your hard drive
I hope this helps mate, let us know how you go

Edit: Not really sure why Razz is displayed it should have been : P but as one character indicating C: Program Files

cityrail-rulez
what do you mean by path of msts installation do you mean the msts 1 and 2
  cityrail-rulez Chief Train Controller

Like with any software program it installs to a path on your hard drive that being the C Drive normally or Local Disk C found under My Computer (Pre XP and Windows XP) or Computer in Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10

if you are using a 32-bit of Windows it normally installs to Program Files or if you are using a 64-bit of Windows then it normally installs to Program Files (x86)

In this case MSTS installs to the default path of Program Files  Microsoft Games  Train Simulator or Program Files (x86) 64-bit versions of Windows as stated above and in my previous post

Or if you have changed this path during installation of MSTS into your custom path then that's where MSTS will be installed to
meaning that the path you have chosen to install MSTS to is the path you need to add in Open Rails

Unless your willing to move Routes, Trains (Trainset+Consist), Sounds into the main Open Rails folder located within either Program Files (32-bit system) or Program Files (x86) (64-bit system) but this is just too much playing around and you have installed MSTS onto your computer so the easiest way to fix your problem from what I have guessed is adding MSTS by locating it via it's installation path to Open Rails as explained above in my previous post

It would be best that you do explore your computer and get to know things about it such as it's folders and files
there's heaps of information all over the internet that will help you learn your computer or you could buy an expensive book at your local bookshop hahaha Razz either way it's all helpful information as I don't want to write down everything relating to your computer lol Razz

Or you can simply click the Start button and go into Computer from the right side menu
if however you don't see Computer there right click and select Properties and then click Customize and normally Computer should be displayed as LINK and once you've done that you can access "Computer" folder and files in Windows 7

Anyway, like I said I'm not going to explain everything about your computer I think it be best that you do learn about it more to find your way around things and it will help you located MSTS and Open Rails files and folders with some luck Smile

I had forgotten about "Graham Pitt's platform kits" you can download these kits from UK Trainsim http://www.uktrainsim.com/
You will need to create an account on UK Trainsim to be able to download and mind you that UK Trainsim can most of the time take a long time to start the download as you are queued, it takes forever sometimes lol

Direct links are from 1 to 4:
http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1186
http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1187
http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1210
http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1211

The simple thing is to download them all and install them in ORDER into the MSTS GlobalShapes folder
Or if you want a full installer with all Graham Pitt's platform kits as shown in the above links send me a PM with your email address, sadly I cannot upload them to Railpage or anywhere else otherwise I will be happy to upload them and I think I've removed some readme files from the archives I can't remember, anyway you can either download them yourself from UK Trainsim or send me a PM and keep this installer in a safe place incase you need to use it again if however you choose to obtain the installer from me

No, don't copy and paste the Global Shapes folder and files into the AU Epping Shapes folder doing this could be fatal for MSTS
and you will have to delete the Epping route which could cause this fatal error

Is there an Installme file located within the AU Epping folder? If so, run this as Administrator

Have you clearly read the Epping route README file? If not I suggest that you read it for more information regarding it's requirements for it to work successfully

I hope this helps

I didn't mean the whole folder, just the required files. It's possible that the route code looks for them locally.

OK it  comes up with "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer" i click yes then it runs msts.

And to stop seeing that message...

Click Start, go to Control Panel then Action Center
Click on "User Account Control" and click Choose your UAC level
move the bar that you see with your mouse all the way DOWN and restart your computer when prompt

This will TURN OFF the User Account Control allowing full access to your computer and the next time you run MSTS you won't see this message again

Using the 3rd patry software that relates to silencing the UAC within the Steam4me tutorial didn't work for me, as I discovered it was a waste of time especially when I was 3d modelling one day and my computer decided to crash and I thought that's ok I can load the autosave file in TSM to get back to my project and having the UAC silenced didn't save the autosave file and this included my route projects some changes I made didn't save so I removed that 3rd party software and turned off the UAC this is the reason why I keep telling people TURN OFF the UAC in Windows

May I ask did you download and installed the file "MSTS Epping line City Loop Patch"? Which ONLY works for Open Rails not for MSTS use! This is to make the City loop operational in Open Rails only as stated within the README file

Have you clearly read the README file contained within the AUeppingline folder? If not I suggest that you read it
As quoted from the Epping Line Readme file, you must have downloaded and installed

Newroads & XTracks from available on the Steam4me site http://msts.steam4me.net/routes/index.html
Tramtracks v1.1 available at http://www.thetrain.de/de/downloadarea/tramtracks-1-1/
Asphalt Platform kit available at http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1211
White stone Platform kit available at http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=1187

Installation process states: Extract the Epping Line to a temporay folder (In other words just extract the folder to Desktop)
move the "AUeppingline" folder into your MSTS ROUTES folder

There's NO installme file so therefore you don't need to run it
I know that you would have New Roads and XTracks as well as the Platform kits I sent you a link of earlier but I wasn't aware of the Tramtracks required to run this route so this is most likely why your getting missing shape errors

If you want to use the Epping Line in MSTS, you don't need the "MSTS Epping line City Loop Patch" as this is ONLY for use in Open Rails, if you want to use the Epping line in Open Rails read the README file!!!

where do i put the those downloads after i download them i dont have the epping line on the menu of routes in msts anymore because i accidentally deleted them in the routes file.  Crying or Very sad

Are you joking?

Well first of all Newroads and Xtracks installs into MSTS GLOBAL folder then into the SHAPES folder
Extract the Tramtracks as well as the Platform kits into a temporay folder (Somewhere you can find it, like your DESKTOP)

Go to MSTS GLOBAL and SHAPES folder, you shouldn't miss it!
Now put all files with .S and .SD into the GLOBAL SHAPES folder from the Tramtracks and Platform kit folders
and it's done

DO NOT, Whatever you do is use the OLD tsection.dat build Number 24 file within the Tramtracks archive this is updated with Xtracks and Newroads automatically

Now you can download and install the Epping line and place it into MSTS ROUTES folder
https://www.railpage.com.au/downloads?mode=download.view&id=744

NOTE: READ THE README FILE!!! That's the last time I'm going to say it
If you've done it correctly the route will work!!

It's a great start you have everything working, just re-run if you haven't done so already run the New Roads and Xtracks installers according to this guide http://msts.steam4me.net/security_unblock.html#not_open this is what Railblogger is explaining you to do

Also keep this guide handy because you will need it to run future installer files on Windows 7 Smile

And as I suggested before, get to know your computer there are heaps of books, forums and videos that will help you learn more about your computer, it also becomes useful when using either MSTS or Open Rails
