Was in southern NSW (Junee/Cootamundra/Harden) area on Friday/Saturday.    Plenty of grain trains on the move heading both north as well as south into Victoria.   What I did notice with the PN grain fleet is that there appears to have a lot of remarshaling of wagon sets done recently where the various rakes are now more consistently formed of the same wagon type rather than the "hodge podge" of different classes and capacities of wagons.  I'm assuming that would help with loading/unloading to some extent as well as having more consistent rakes may help with maintenance and probably more so in terms of capacity management for planning.

A highlight was watching a class 81 and 3 class 48's climbing the Bethungra Spiral with a loaded 40 wagon consist that I estimated would have been around 3,000 tonnes.  all the 48's were working well and with the class 81 they seemed to make easy work of the climb.

Around 1200 today I saw 5BM7 at Flemington southbound.

It had CF4402 coupled between two LDPs.

Is this another loco purchased by Aurizon?
