Cityrail Service Interuptions - NOW WITH ADDED TRACKWORK!

Sydney Trains put heat speed restrictions in place for Sydney's North, Central and South-West regions.

Speeds were reduced by 10 kilometres per hour, restricting the speed on all lines to 90kph.

A spokesman for Sydney Trains said the restrictions usually applied when the temperature exceeded 39C.

"Extreme heat speed restrictions have historically had very little impact on the punctuality of train services," he said.

Hunter & Central to Hamilton Lines
Hunter Line
First in the afternoon sometime all Hunter Line trains were starting/ending at Broadmeadow due to "urgent" track repairs at Hamilton

THREE DELAYS TO THE ONE TRAIN AT HORNSBY!
15:15 Central to Hamilton semi express = 3hr 14 mins!
(To put it more simply, "Third world countries could have handled the situation better")

Delay 1: Passenger fiddled with emergency button?:
At Hornsby, arrives on time at 15:51. Took 27 minutes to tell passengers over the intercom that "someone fiddled with the emergency alarms".

Delay 2: Mechanical issues with "fire alarms"?:
But then it was changed to "mechanical issues with the fire alarms.Asked why it took so long to use the speakers to notify passengers, and was told that he couldn't as the fire alarms affects the speakers. Well EXCUSE me, but aren't the speakers the most vital part if a train needs to be evacuated?IF that's the case, then how come the exact same thing happened a few months (passenger may have pressed the emergency button & may have stolen a passenger's luggage, but was able to tell the passengers over the speakers almost straight away?)

Delay 3: Sick Passenger:
At again at Hornsby, we had to wait for an ambulance due to a sick passenger. That can't be helped of course.

But after a while, over the speaker, the guard said it was due to 1) Passenger disturbance, 2) "Mechanical problems" with fire alarms (Not sure if 1 & 2 are related), & 3) Sick passenger.
---------------------------------------------
A number of questions:
How can the speaker/intercom not work if the emergency buttons were pressed? What if it was a real emergency, and the guard had to tell passengers to evacuate the train?

The Oscar train to Wyong went on Platform 4 & left before our train.

If they were having mechanical issues with possibly the back four carriages, why couldn't they ask passengers in the back four to move to the front four?, OR better still, since the Wyong Oscar came about half an hour after us, to ask passengers to swap to the Wyong train, and then extend that Wyong train to Hamilton, while terminating the V-set?  Their were certainly enough sets at Gosford to use. Most passengers did swap if they only going as far as Wyong.

Please don't tell me they need an SPA to extend a train due extensive delays?
