I actually think that this is a deliberate tactic on behalf of Powerline to try and prevent competition - their promised upgrade of the AS/BS cars has been on the cards for years and presumably Auscision decided not to take the commercial risk to do a duplicate model.

Wouldn't that be a new strategy for Auscision?

Happy duplicating,

Auscision quadruplicated the 48 class and have announced their duplicated versions of models being done by others on quite a few occasions. I really doubt they're fussed by what Powerline have on the go if their hearts are set on producing specific models.

Going off past actions by Auscision I doubt they care what Powerline does.

Hi

There was a post on Trainworld back in April 2015 asking whether people wanted a well wagon or refrigerated wagon and most people said both. I asked Trainworld last week and they replied saying the multi freighter and greater freighter were all the wagons they had currently.

So I'm gathering that there has been no progress on that.

Hi

Just had a read of the product newsletter sent through by email.

Just a few things of note
1. The Ghan, Indian Pacific, Southern Spirit. Only enough are being made for pre orders with a few extra, but they could all sell out before delivery so pre order if your interested.

2. A class re runs, only 25 - 30 of each being made, with a few extra for the mk3 A66. They are arriving the same time as the 46, 86 & 421 class.

It's good that Auscision Models are doing the re-runs of the A class, I can finally be able to get 2 of them as I had been out of the Victorian model railway scene for a while and really like to get them for the layout plan I have. Plus I do like the IP/Ghan/Southern Spirit cars but don't fit in the layout theme/era I am doing.

"Word just in from our factory is the V Set will ship out of China at the end of April. Pre-order pricing will end on the 28th of April so if you want to save $100.00 on a 4 car set we advise ordering quickly...." - via facebook.

Hi

There has been chatter that the A class re runs are being shipped with the V sets, but hasn't been officially confirmed.

With the NR release Auscision have shown a 5 star livery on both order form and prototype photos, but no 5 star is available on the order sheet. Is this a mistake or couldn't they find a actual photo of the 4 star which is available?

Might as well talk about unannounced models, as there always seem to be some. What special NR liveries could their be? Aborginal, Rail Safety, Overland, any of the named The Ghan liveries like Steve Irwin, Black?

There has never been an Overland painted NR so that leaves that out!

There was a design worked out for an Overland NR which was published along with those for the Ghan, Indian Pacific and Southern Spirit.

Of these, only one IP (NR 18) and the two Southern Spirit locomotives were actually painted.

The Overland version was very similar to the Southern Spirit with shades of blue instead of green with a silver cab

I'm sure they'd sell enough to justify making it, even if they never got around to painting the prototype.

The Ghan loco had shades of red in the Southern Spirit pattern, and was replaced on the prototype by plain red with the new style lettering.

But there are official painting diagrams to copy, so it will be authentic.

For Auscision to produce an Overland NR would require permission from GSR, which considering GSR never went forward and had an NR painted is said livery would make it highly doubtful that they would give permission for it to be reproduced in model form.

Aboriginal liveries require license that isn't cheap, perceived popularity could make it viable with a price premium added (like Black Caviar CF4412)
NR16 People/Rail Safety livery license will set you back $18,000.
Overland livery only got to design stage, but I'm sure GSR would accept cash for its reproduction.
Steve Irwin branding needs an expensive license.
Black livery of NR52 is being done.

Hi

Sounds interesting, especially in regards to the cost of licenses, but some of those special liveries I'm sure would be in demand.

I thought that Austrains did an NR in the Steve Irwin livery?

Reading the Austrains blog/newsletter from 2008 they mentioned that they were going to do the Overland livery, until GSR said they were putting a hold on the paint job.

I found a picture showing the Rail Safety livery, it look very good. I'm sure it will be a priced possession for the avid modeller. I believe it was on the Overland for quite a while.

What other unannounced liveries are possible? They are only run by Pacific National. What other liveries did Pacific National/National Rail have?
