A few great things I have noticed is the serious improvement for weekends.  Everything is now 15 minutes max between services on weekends.  The blue mountains line has a great downward ultra express service in the morning.  (possibly an endeavor service)
The newcastle services make mention of the "newcastle interchange"

Great to see the changes in the Blue Mountains on the weekend, much needed. The Southern Highlands has gotten worse though. On weekdays the Goulburn-Sydney service arrives later about 10:47 I think. Most would prefer it arrive closer to 10am than 11am, which it used to prior to the 2013 changes. The return service takes longer to get to Goulburn too now, about an extra 10 minutes. I hope this is for traffic reasons rather than padding out the timetable to improve OTR statistics. Weekend service frequency hasn't changed either, mostly every 2 hours.

cant see that "downward ultra express service"  being an endeavour - bit silly to run a dmu under wires 100% of the trip it will be a V-Set its only going to and from Lithgow

Looking through the published timetables for 26th November.  Apart from what we knew from politician announcements, a few interesting ones is the addition of St Peters to Macarthur via sydneyham services.   Increase in off peak bankstown services.  15 minutes all stops to lidcombe, with 30 minutes express to liverpool.

Is the "ultra express" to which you refer the Up service ex Bathurst 07:40 Lithgow 08:47 Mount Victoria 09:15 Katoomba 09:32 and set-down-only at Springwood, Penrith, Westmead, Parramatta and Central?  That is indeed 2N.  There are also limited stop Up services from Mount Victoria 07:02, Katoomba 10:22, Mount Victoria 15:02 and 16:02 and 17:02, and Katoomba 18:22, all of which are 8V.

Have pity on those who want to travel between, say, Riverwood and Panania.  Or between Glenfield and Beverly Hills.  The previous seamless connections between all-stoppers to/from Revesby, and limited stoppers skipping Narwee-Turrella, have been disposed of.  All day every day.

No not all day every day, the interchange station is now Padstow or Riverwood instead of Revesby.

Weekdays:

Ex: Macarthur / Padstow / All Stops at Padstow (Wait)

06:39 / 07:13 / 07:16 (3mins)
06:54 / 07:28 / 07:31 (3mins)
07:09 / 07:43 / 07:46 (3mins)
07:24 / 07:58 / 08:01 (3mins)
07:39 / 08:13 / 08:16 (3mins)

and two in the afternoon peak arriving at Riverwood at 17:46 and 18:01 also with a 3 min wait for the connecting Campbelltown train.

So 17 services make a 3 minute change vs a 1 minute wait on every single change at revesby on the current time table.
  tazzer96 Deputy Commissioner

The interchange on the new T8 is only an issue in peak, off peak it reverts back to revesby but the expresses becoming faster.
The East hills line is one of the best lines in the whole nation.  Not only frequent services, but also very fast.  Certainly the best line in sydney.  I don't have pity on them.

While it may have changed since the draft timetable, or I may have written something wrong.  The 1:18pm from lithgow to central is the what i was probably referring to.  Probably an 8 car service and most likely a positioning service for afternoon peak.

I believe it is 5 services up and 2 services down that connect with each other, M-F peak.

So my miscalculation on the services.

At only 5 services that is even worse but before in both directions there was a 1 minute change at either padstow or revesby as the all stops followed the express. Having looked closer at the new timetable those 5 services are also via sydenham services and not via the airport.

Those services are via the Airport. They stop up to Holsworthy then Padstow Riverwood and Wolli Creek.
Hence the interchange at either Padstow or Riverwood for all stations service as it does not stop at Revesby.

That's 5x up on AM peak and 2x down on PM peak.

Other services (via Sydenham or Airport) either does not stop (e.g. Holsworthy then Wolli Creek eliminating any interchange possibilities or incur around 15 min wait, which kind of discourages public transport on that route).

I guess from Opal data they figured out the majority of limited stops -> all stops are mostly in the peak periods.

The problem is that the interchange is now back to front. The all stops service leaves 2 minutes after the express service on the current timetable and on the new timetable the all stops service leaves 3 minutes before the express. This means a 12 minute layover outside of those peak hour services.

Have anybody see a hard copy - paper - version of the new timetable? Yes I know it is available online however I have an older
'contact' that has a disability and her brain 'prefers' a hard copy book style to deal with.
Many thanks,
