    Where are locomotives 8044, 852 and 4836 and their ballast rake working at the moment ?
    GML10 and 8030 (?) and ballast train were distributing ballast between Elmhurst and Amphitheatre today (12/02).

    The other ballast train was at Emu Loop the other day. Heading Northwest last time I heard.

    No, not loading at Avoca as far as I am aware. It would take too long.

    There Is a ballast pile near Eversley.

    The SG rail out of Maryborough (towards Dunolly) was very dull looking today.

    8110 is just south of Donald.

    GML10 and friends are just west of Ampitheatre.

    Nice drone footage of a couple of train movements with the Fruitie, at Manangatang.

    Excellent footage of what roads are there, for reference after, the conversion and or re-arrangement of the tracks.

    Thanks to Pocalix for posting the clip, you could record as much of the action, you can, would be appreciated.

    It's quite a long leash up of containers, suppose they are all empty, after coming from Melbourne, other wise H1 would be snorting the coal out, the smoke stack.

    Work started today on the Graincorp siding at Donald.
    Looks like a complete redo with all the sleepers pulled up and a roller starting the surface as flat.

    I get the impression that Donald and Birchip will open before Yelta/Murrayville do.  Perhaps the Mildura Fruity will load at Piangil after Manangatang is shut for conversion on 11th March?

    Heaps.  But not as much as last year (primarily due to frost damage).

    There was a period of about a couple of weeks back in the FA era when the Merbein was diverted to Piangil due to a derailment shutting the Mildura line (from memory G516 and G534 were the two involved in that derailment). They all ran during the night though.

    IIRC there was a temporary hardstand built at Manangatang for the temporary loading there.  If they move their loading point, they'd need an appropriate hardstand.

    It's just 45km further East.  I think the fact they would have to make some changes to the Piangil site wouldn't make it worth the hassle in the end...

    Another major milestone in the Murray Basin Rail Project was reached when the first revenue train ran over the line from Ararat to Maryborough, that being 9147 empty grain from Dimboola to Birchip AWB, powered by Pacific National's G523, 8110 and 8164. With me being at work however, I wasn't able to see it in person; these scenes being filmed by my dad. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get the loaded train when it returns.
