Bevan thanks for posting.
First time I haven't been out that way at Easter for 20 odd years.
Last time was at Rylstone station, the place was crawling with black snakes.
Drone footage from there, showed I believe the old station masters house.
Hope this is correct, it's a mouthful. My wife's fathers, brothers, wife's grandfather was the SM back when, and lived there, with a bucket load of kids. Must have been cosy.

What is it with black snakes and stations? Last February I spent an hour enjoying the peace ( and the odd train ) on the down platform at Wondabyne. On two occasions, a local black snake left the grass area, wandered past me on to the platform, had a look over the edge, and decided to go back home again. Interesting to watch.

Here's a nice contrast from around this time twenty one years ago. Scenes of 5910 hauling a long weekend tour to Rylstone in April 1997.

Another great video BW.
Thanks for posting.

Does anyone know what the continuous steam blow on both sides forward of the cylinders is, please?
I wouldn't have thought that it was cylinder cocks from the location and continuity but no doubt someone will know?

It is unserviceable due to causes other than fair wear and tear.

More than a bit off thread but try Googling "Tar and Cement Lyrics".

Twas a song recorded in 1966 by a US singer (and one hit wonder) named Verdelle Smith.

Yes. Especially when I realised I was on the Saturday tour from Rylstone to Lithgow and return! I'll just apologise again for my then two yo son screaming the carriage down when he realised mummy wasn't coming...
