  TP Sigs Beginner

Howdi All,

Yep, put me down as a newby as well.

Have followed Toad's adventures over the years but never got involved.

A quick " about me ".

Signals Tech based in Tom Price.
Doing it about 11 years.
Coverage area is the 160km through to the mines.
Have a good collection of photo's over the years, just have to work out how to post them. ( hint....help )

Looking forward to posting some Pilbara updates from time to time.

TP Sigs
Welcome to RP Lamby.
Good luck with trying to post photos directly.
I have been here for years and still unable to do so.
If you want an easy place for photos you could try Railbastard.

AAhh, NO, don't be doing that. And be very careful about what you do share. I know a few blokes working over there - including at TP, and by all reports, RTIO Corporate can be a bit touchy about what is publicly disclosed.

KRviator is correct. Do not share your working job details here. Management of so many organisations do like to come here and see if details are being exposed, and sometimes can work out who it is by the info they provide.

Try to keep the job and the railfan seperate - photo and info wise.  Info wise only what is publically permitted.  Often a Railroader will explain a concept to the railfan here but not with technical info or specs.

We do not want people to lose their job, or even get harassed by fellow workers.  A Pity, yes, but reality needs respect.

All we  advise is caution.

And we welcome you to Railpage !

It was not my intent to encourage TP Sigs to post anything that his employer might not like - and his opening post has effectively outed himself in any case - so he would be very wise to lay low, and certainly not post anything that might affect his employment.

YM-Mundrabilla - I know that your pet hate is the inability to load your photos direct to a RP thread, rather than show them via a 3rd party, but I suspect that the Barossa one as well as others is a RP issue rather than a Flickr one.

Trouble is, RP seems to have a lot of unresolved issues of late and all those with the Tech skills seem to have gone on Extended Leave.

Hi All,

Thanks for the feedback and valuable advise.

Will do some thinking on that one.

While a bit off topic for this thread....

I get "Railpage Unavailable" in boxes where linked photos should appear.
I assume this is what is upsetting YM (although if people get different results I'd be interested....

What I do is refresh the page, and when the link is still visible, double click.
This takes me to Flickr where I can view the photos.

Then I just return to Railpage...

Same here - for about a week now, also affects Video links - look at the link and then return and are faced with the RP Unavailable over the top. Then refresh an all is ok...until the next time.
