The problem is that there is now no longer a power supply available due to the closure of the Mt. Lofty Retreat.

This is correct.  We have reached out to the managers of the site.

Ahh so thats why its not working, well is the owner thinking of selling it to anyone? looks like it might take a while to fix this problem. is there any chance that you could reinstall the cameras somewhere else that is close, say algate?

We can install more cameras, no issue there.  Can we get a site and some assistance?

I have been working on Port Augusta but that is a different story.

I believe the landlord is the State Government.

Pressman is correct.
I will try to suss out Aldgate tomorrow re suitable location(s) for E and W cameras. Of course locos not working hard cf Mt Lofty as they usually drift through and power up further to the west as they start the grade to Mt Lofty.
I think the station is leased by a community group "The Hut". I could talk with them if desired to see whether they would be amenable.
Cheers

I had a look this morning.
As you can see from Google Earth, the station and platform are on the inside of a curve, hence sight distance is not good in either direction.
However, there is a goods shed opposite that could provide a possible sheltered location under the eaves, with views to the east that would include the Mt Barker Road bridge and to the west at least partly around the curve.
Whether this shed is also still owned by the SA Govt or not, it is occupied by Thomas Gas, the local bulk gas agent. It is connected to mains power.
I do not know what is required by Railpage re a data connection and so can not comment on that aspect.
Cheers

We use 5 different types and models on the network.  We have recently started testing the HKVISION.  PM me and let's set a few more up.

Ok will do.  I am visiting Bunbury Street to upgrade this morning and correct the camera 2 issue.

Radio issues yesterday have caused issues and I notice we have packet loss on the link to Bunbury Street.

Bunbury cam has been down for about a week which is because the radio link between Bunbury St and Mt Dandenong is down and we should have it rectified by the end of this weekend when the replacement radio for Mt Dandenong arrives.
