Now this is going to sound like foam, but perhaps SSR have plans to expand their BG operations?

Still it's not an investment in new rolling stock - a little bit more evidence supporting change.

Not the point im making.  One of the reasons for the Murray Basin project was that no new rolling stock was being invested in.  Hence the need for change to SG.  This doesnt alter that.  I guess my previous comment was thinking out loud.

Would live to see a triple S BG grainy soon. Good on SSR. Creating a nice little niche for themselves.

Well SSR did invest in some rollingstock in a different way - when they obtained those 180 Coal Hoppers from SA (and put on a huge show when they moved them east) and converted them to carry grain, a portion of which have found their way to Victoria.

You don't really believe that any NEW rollingstock (in any significant numbers) would be built in Australia these days?

I think that would be captured in the KPIs.

From the business case the relevant KPI is:

Investment in rolling stock, storage, handling and terminal facilities measured by dollars of investment by operators within five years of government investment.
Murray Basin Rail Project Business Case

Their target is $30m by January 2023 (baseline January 2018).  SSR's investment in the conversion would be counted, im not sure about their purchase though.

I dont think new rolling stock would be built in Australia but that wasn't what I was thinking either.

Hello All,

Question ? Why would new rolling stock not be built in Australia ? Would not the use of industrial robots make this feasible ?

They stopped on the Bridge on the way out, Bevans, waiting for a line clear from 5MS7 led by QBX006. And then throttled up once they had line clear.
