Hi all,

Does anybody know of the current whereabouts of the NPHH cement hopper fleet? I recall they used to be used on the Kandos cement services that ceased in 2011, and have not seen them on cement services elsewhere in the Southern Highlands or short north.

Cheers,

These are just larger versions of the "double cone" body tankers aren't they, with Gloucester primary suspension bogies?

If so I saw two on Saturday August 11 on 2134 Berrima to Clyde cement and one on the same train last Saturday.

They are a bit taller and longer that the other wagons, and still appear white under the grey.

Running between Berrima and points north, most likely Kooragang. Probably need to wait for summer to see them on the south, in daylight.

Thanks for the responses.

They used to be used in blocks between Kandos and Clyde.

Compare the differences:

Will keep an eye out for them on the Berrima Cement services; last few I saw only had the NPRY type.

According to the wagon database at work the majority of the NPHH wagons have been running on 4124N between Walsh Point (Newcastle) and Clyde. A couple of others have been on trip services between Botany and Clyde it looks like.

There are no loading/unloading points for bulk cement at Botany. As you say, Loaded to Walsh Point, empty back south. Any variations on that theme would likely be repairs between Enfield and Clyde.

I think the previous poster meant “Botany Line” Bulk cement is unloaded at Boral Cooks River.

Perhaps he did. But if the original poster was looking for NPHH's they would be disappointed at Botany and at Boral Cook's River. Boral Cook's River is configured for PRY, PRF. NPHH's will not work at Cooks without major plant modification. No offence intended. Just trying to point the original poster in the correct direction.
