Well breaking news, an Indian Pacicfic will be hauled west with CL17 and GM1, to Parkes. Shadowed by a heritage train dragged along by 3801, 3830 and R766. An option to convert another R class from Victoria to STandard gauge for this one off event is still an option at this stage but hopefully garret 6042, yep the one from Forbes will be drained of flood water and operational.

No time line has been provided.
But, the trolley, that bog, is good stuff.

Keepin the faith, brother.

Sadly, and errily close to the last couple of posts meant in jest, I was actually and in full honesty told in person at Streamliners 2016 that ‘I have a sponsor for GM1 brother! It, GM3 and GM22 to Perth for the 100 years of the Trans! All three to be painted at Lithgow at once so there’s no differences in paint colour. We’ll leave GM1 in Perth fully overhauled for RHWA and come back with 3 and 22’! This was while a quickly assembled band of well meaning volunteers slaved away trying to finish last minute details and planning that had been neglected so that Streamliners could actually go ahead and appear somewhat organised. All for a free sausage sandwich and a thanks brother!

I’m glad I didn’t hold my breath.

CLP10 was issued a Ready to Go Certificate today from CFCLA Goulburn. This means we can get under way with our preparations to move it to Parkes so the restoration can commence. Again a massive thank you for anyone who has chipped in a dollar or shared our post, none of this could have been achieved without you.

Appears CLP17 was moved by B61, from Goulburn to Cootamundra, on or about 23/12/2018.
A quick YouTube search will find the above. Not mine so not posting link.

More work was required than initially thought. Loco needs New turbo IRRC and a few other bits. Fundraising time!

I’m assuming this is the first time since the WCR days that B61 has hauled a passenger train

12 months on and your still going down this path. And you never provided those details of your 'credentials'. They are getting on with the job of fixing the loco and your still on the sour path. Actions do speak louder you know.

Earlier in the thread he eludes to the fact that he is somehow involved in the planning of maintenance for locomotives.  He also mentions earlier in the thread the fact the CLP10's engine hadn't been stack capped like he knew there was a problem with the turbo before the streamliners group did.  Also he is critical of both the CM's and 1100 class locomotives which would suggest he is associated with Qube or is involved with CF Goulburn and he longs for the old government days when train crew weren't expected to provision their locomotives so he has also been around for awhile.  He also isn't a fan of BB.

Like most in the industry, they know more hot air comes out of the promoter than what is likely to come out of the turbo.
